A fragment of a cast copper-alloy early medieval (early Anglo-Saxon) small long brooch dating to c. AD 450-550. Only the headplate has survived. It comprises three sub-rectangular lobes with semi-circular cut outs at each length. The front is very corroded and no traces of decoration are visible. The reverse has the remains of the lug surrounded by iron corrosion, possibly from an iron pin. Bright green patina, heavily pitted, worn and corroded. Length: 29.4 mm, Width: 24 mm. Thickness (lug):  7.7 mm with head plate thickness of 1.4mm. It weighs 8.07g

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman hinged Colchester derivative brooch, Mackreth type CD H 3.c. Dated to c. AD 43-150 The brooch has tubular cast wings with a double moulding on their outer ends, on the display side only, retain an axis bar for a hinged pin but only a single loop remains of the pin. The wings are clasped by a D-section bow with a single central longitudinal ridge passing down it. Three pairs of lenticular bosses project from the mid rib at a shared diagonal angle. An incomplete Roman copper alloy plate brooch in the form of a figure riding a horse going right with some remaining enamel decoration. The riders head is missing aong with the extremities of the horses legs. The pin is missing but the mount and catch remain on the reverse that is otherwise plain. The PAS database has many examples of this style of brooch (e.g. OXON-BB82E1, WILT-EB1156, WAW-174245, WILT-7C9663) including very intricate versions such as SOM-DCBB1B found in Somerset. An incomplete Roman Colchester Derivative Rearhook brooch dating to the 1st century AD c.AD 60-100. The wings are sub-rectangular and semi-circular in cross-section. The pin and spring are missing. There are remains of a rearhook. The bow springs out of the central aspect of the wing; it is D-shaped and tapers towards a rounded foot. The bow is decorated with three central longitudinal incised grooves that run its full length. The catchplate is worn and damaged, projecting from the foot and curved inwards.

A copper alloy flat enamelled disc brooch dating to the Roman period (c.AD 80 - AD 250) The brooch is circular in plan with a slightly raised outer border and central ring. The area between the border and the ring is decorated with a ring of six pellets set in a field of blue enamel. The recessed cell at the centre of the ring is empty. The reverse is flat and undecorated, with an open spring attachment point and the remains of the catchplate at opposing points. The pin is missing.
