Medieval copper alloy buckle fragment, 24mm long, 14mm wide and 10mm thick with a weight of 5.23grams. The object consists of the pin rest portion of a probably rectangular frame. It has a rectangular cross section and is decorated with a series of transverse depressions. There is a central one, forming the pin rest, which is flanked closely by two more. Each edge has a further depression before its rounded corners. What is present suggests that the buckle frame from this point is much narrower and rectangular in section.

The object has a curved fold along one edge which possibly suggests it could have been part of a circular vessel of some size. In its present form it has very rough edges and is covered in a series of cut marks, some in a very concentrated area. Given that it may have once been a vessel, a Roman or ealry Medieval date is probable.
