Post medieval lead alloy dress hook. Length 18mm, width 10mm, thickness 4mm, weight 2.73g. The object is incomplete and consisists of two parts of a trefoil shaped motif. These have a slightly hollow underside and a domed upper surface with a raised decoration of a quatrefoil of small annulets with a central granule and a granule in the interstices.The edge is engrailed. There is an annulet inbetween the bottom of the two domes and above where the third dome would have been attached. The surface is patinated and slightly corroded. Class D, Type 5. Read,2008, pg71, pl 232.

It is decorated with a pierced design which consists of two semicircles facing each other at an angle as if a circle has been cut in half with an inverted small triangle above, in the centre. This is surrounded by two rows of concentric circles, the majorityof the inner circles are smaller then the outer. Diameter 44mm, thickness 4mm, weight 18.39g.

A complete Post-medieval silver seal matrix, possibly dating to 1794-1818. The base is oval with an image of a bird in the centre facing right with a sprig in its beak,above this is a five petalled flower, the inscription around the outside reads 'HENRY HVNT'. the base tapers to become a short hexagonal shaft which terminates in a flat open work trefoil shaped knop which has a single molded collar at its base. The finders have traced a Henry Hunt, 1794-1818, who had Loughborough connections and was involved in the Peterloo massacre. The imagery of the matrix suggests it could be of…

The upper surface is decorated with stamped motifs. A central seven petalled flower is surrounded by a border of slightly curved lines and each corner has a stamped ring and dot. 18mm long, 16mm wide, 2mm thick and weighing 2.54grams.

Copper-alloy Post-Medieval knife handle terminal stop from a scale-tang knife. It is in the form of two outward facing animal heads (probably dogs). The snouts are pointed with a groove for the mouth. Above these are rounded heads with dots for eyes. A circumferential groove encircles the base. Iron corrosion product covers the base. Read (2001, 88, no.655) suggests a16th century date. There are several similar examples on the database including SOM-471CD5, HAMP-728F85 and IOW-765F43. Length 15mm, width 16mm, thickness 8mm, weight 7.61g.

A fragment of a medieval copper-alloy purse bar. It is v-shaped in section and becomes narrower at one end. There is a pierced hole in one edge towards the wider end of the bar. There is a decoration of an engraved doubled grooved zig zag. A similiar example is illustrated by Margeson (1993: no. 290) and it is probably of 16th or 17th century date. A fragment of a copper-alloy double-loop buckle of post-Medieval date. One short outer edge and one long outer edge are present. The short edge consists of two semi-circular loops with a baluster moulding in the middle in which the pin would have sat. Half of the buckle frame and the central bar is present.The buckle frame is sub-rectangular and trapezoidal in plan, and trapezoidal in section with a bevelled outside edges and a flat surface. A cast, copper-alloy, post medieval, foot and part of a leg from a cooking vessel. The leg is V shaped in section with a flattened D sectioned foot. The leg has a central rib running down its centre. This stops at a ribbed collar where it joins the foot. The integral foot protudes from the leg and has three defined raised lobes to form a foot. Length 43mm, width 43,thickness 19mm.

Post Medieval cast copper-alloy foot and part of a leg from a cooking vessel. The leg is D-shaped in section and is plain. There is a moulded collar around the leg just above the foot. The integral foot is triangular in form with a sub rectangular section. Its upper surface is formed of three distinct lobes. Length 49.9 mm, width 32.2mm, thickness 20mm.
