Roman Copper-alloy spoon, Length 35mm, width 20mm, thickness 6mm, weight 3.85grams. The bowl of the spoon is circular in form and the remains of the handle is circular in cross-section. The handle is attached to the back of the bowl forming a tapered rib running down the back of the bowl. There is punched dotted decoration in the form of curved lines on the reverse of the bowl around the rib, which turn on themselves to form a half a 'love heart' style pattern on either side. Copper-alloy Roman spoon. Most of the bowl is missing but what remains is attached to the handle by a crescent shaped lug. This lug is decorated with vertical ridges where it is attached to the handle. The top of this lug is either broken or has a scalloped edge. The handle has a flat rectangular section where it joins the lug with possible transverse ridges as decoration.The handle, which is rectangular in section, tapers to a blunt end. It is similar to WMID-E02190. Length: 91.0mm, width: 11.0, thickness: 2.0mm, weight: 3.91g.
