Iron age copper alloy escutcheon plate, probably from a cauldron? Length 50mm, width 31mm thickness 1.5mm, weight 42.31grams. The object would have been used to secure a handle to a vessel, proabblay a cauldron. It is rectangular in form and D shaped in cross -section. It has a central curved section, 22mm deep, which has a raised lip, 5mm high, rising up at each edge and a rounded, raised 'ridge' running down its centre. The object consists of just under half a circular terret and has broken in half down its centre. A copper-alloy Roman Nauheim derivative brooch. The head, formed from wire looped into a coil, is now distorted. The bow is narrow, slightly curved and expands towards the foot. An incomplete copper alloy Late Iron Age to early Roman Colchester brooch. The head has signs of transverse grooving on the outer face. To the rear are two loops, one still containing part of the chord. The rest of the spring and pin are missing. The bow tapers to a point and the remains of a triangular catchplate survive to the reverse. Several similar examples are illustrated by Bayley and Butcher (2004, p.63, 54ff), who suggest that this type was first manufactured prior to the Roman conquest of Britain, but continued in use into the middle years of the 1st century AD (ibid., 14…

Iron age/ Early Roman copper alloy button and loop fastener. The fragment consists of only the loop which is triangular in plan and rectangular in section with rounded edges and a large triangular perforation. At the narrow end the rectangular sectioned shaft turns 90o where it has snapped off. This would have joined the button part of the object. The surface is smooth and has a mid greyish-green patina. Similar to YORYM-65FB92. Length 23mm, width 15mm, thickness 3mm, weight 3.62g.

A copper alloy enamelled object of probable Iron Age date. It is currently crecentic in form, but damage to each end suggests that it was originally a different shape. The upper face is convex and the reverse flat. positioned transversely the centre of the outer face is a raised oval moulding surrounded by a raised, beaded border.
