An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Hod Hill brooch. Only part of the head and bow survive, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn. At the head of the brooch the remains of the flattened terminal of the bow, with a central pin slot, is rolled forwards to hold in place, the now missing pin. The head tapers slightly and is separated from the bow by a transverse ridge. The bow is a flat with a concave front face. The front face is decorated with two deep longitudinal grooves. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Hod Hill brooch. Only the foot of the bow and the catchplate survive, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn. The bow is flat. The terminal is decorated with an expanded transverse ridge and a flat D-shaped base. On the back face of the foot is an integrally cast catchplate. This is triangular in form with a rectangular pin groove. This brooch measures 19.25mm in length, 6.75mm in width, 1.33mm in thickness, 1.52g in weight. There are similar examples from Augst (Riha, 1979, plate 39, no. 1107, 1120).

It has an obtuse striking platform with a prominent bulb of percussion and strongly defined concentric ripples on the ventral face. There is crude steep flake removal at the distal end on the dorsal face, perhaps indicating that this flake was used as a crude scraper. Circa 40% cortex remaining on the dorsal face. One end terminates in old breaks. The other has a rectangular projection which extends 8.20mm before bending upwards and terminating in old breaks. This object measures 28.21mm in length, 5.83mm in width, 2.89mm in thickness, 1.69g in weight.

Within this is a recessed panel containing Style I chip carved decoration before terminating in old breaks. The front face is decorated with a crown with the value 1 ½ beneath. This value indicates the tax rate in pence. The back face is undecorated. This cloth seal measures 13.65mm in diameter, 1.15mm in thickness, 1.08g in weight. There is a similar example recorded by Egan (Egan, 1995, p.179, no. 184) and recorded on the PAS database (SF4628), (SF4627).

A fragment from a grey volcanic lava stone quern of uncertain date. Only part of one face survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn. The remains are sub-rectangular in form with a grinding face that has multiple parallel grooves. All edges terminate in old breaks. This quern measures 135.99mm in length, 128.90mm in width, 24.05mm in thickness, 602g in weight. The grooves on the quern are very large, perhaps suggesting it is a fragment from a Medieval millstone.
