A fragment of a post Medieval cast copper alloy cooking vessel. It has a slightly raised rim 8mm wide, which runs around the inside. The outside surface is rough with striations the inside surface is smooth but uneven. The thickness is 4.2mm (max) at the rim and 4.1mm (max) below the rim, tapering to 3.5mm (max) at the base. The inside surface has a dark green patina and the outside surface has black carbon deposits. Circa 16th-17th century. Length: 25.5mm. Height: 19.4mm. Thickness: 4.2mm (max). Weight: 7.80g.

An incomplete post Medieval cast copper alloy foot/leg from a cauldron, posnet or skillet, dating to c.AD 1500-1700. The leg is sub-triangular in cross-section with an outer surface formed of three conjoined convex ribs and a flat inner surface. There is a prominent transverse collar dividing the foot and leg, with the latter terminating in an old break just above the collar. There are traces of carbon deposits, especially on the inner surface. Dimensions: length 42.5mm. Width 26.0mm (max). Thickness 13.3mm (max). Weight: 46.50g.

A cast copper alloy fragment, possibly from a Late Iron Age to Early Roman vessel handle escutcheon and dating to c.200 BC-c.AD 100. The fragment comprises a semi-circular suspension loop with a central sub-oval hole (6.9mm x 5.4mm), which has been elongated upwards through ware. On one side towards the lower end there is a slight lateral ridge then an old break, which is angled at about 45 degrees. This suggests that the casting was not flat, but was angled at this point. Made from an approximately rhomboid strip of copper alloy sheet of thickness 0.6mm, neatly folded inwards and then outwards again from both sides. One side terminates in a point but on the other side, the point has broken off, or it has been deliberately fashioned in this way. There are additional fragments of similar sheet metal sandwiched on either side, which are best observed in the end view. Suggested date: Early Medieval to post Medieval, c.1066-1800. Length: 18.9mm.
