A fragment of a silver gilt badge or mount of late Medieval to early post Medieval date, c 1450-1550. The badge is is openwork and depicts a standing eagle with its head angled to the left and its one remaining wing outstretched. To the left of the eagle is a projecting terminal moulded into four parallel bars which ends in a broken loop, possibly for attachment to a rivet or other fitting.
