A small ceramic body sherd of a Medieval vessel, c. 1175-1275 AD. The fabric is a local flint and sand-tempered coarse ware, with large to medium inclusions of flint. The external face is of a dark grey colour and the interior is of a medium orange-red colour, suggesting that the outer surface of the vessel was exposed to a reducing atmosphere within the kiln whereas the interior experienced an oxidising atmosphere. Too little of the shape of the vessel survives to suggest a particular type, although the thinness of the wall (approximately 6 mm thick) suggests perhaps a cup, small …

A rim sherd of a Medieval pot, c. late 12th-13th century AD. The fabric is a local flint and possibly sand-tempered coarse ware. The sherd has an everted rim with a flat upper surface; only a small portion of the vessel walls remain, measuring approximately 6.7-5 mm thick. The estimated interior diameter of the vessel is 18 cm and the approximate external diameter is 21 cm. The sherd measures an overall 5.37 mm long, 25.08 mm wide, 15.77 mm thick (at rim) and weighs 15.95 grams.
