An incomplete Roman vessel..This is the complete base from a much larger wheel thrown vessel. It is made of a hard, brittle, orange fabric and has numerous gritty inclusions of varying sizes in it. The upper edge shows damage where the main body of the vessel is lost.The outer surface is pitted with small voids left by the loss of organic material during firing,. Dating from the late Roman period 200AD - 400AD. Diameter (base) 58.2mm, height 43.3mm, thickness (at break) 7.6mm, weight 114.1g.

A complete, medieval annular brooch; cast copper alloy.The frame is round in section dating from the 13th-15th century AD. The brooch is annular with a copper alloy pin that is attached to the brooch by a loop. Diameter 44.7mm, thickness 4.1mm, length (pin) 48.6mm, weight 21.08g. The brooch is undecorated apart from a ridge on the pin close to the loop. The metal is dark green and the object is well preserved.

Roman brooch; cast copper alloy Aesica brooch, dating from the first century. The brooch consists of partial wings, a bow and a leg and has an incomplete catch-plate. The surfaces are corroded and pitted overall. The sprung pin would have been attached with a rear hook in a similar way to that of a sprung dolphin brooch, although Aesica brooches can also use the Polden Hill manner, the double-pierced lug or can also be hinged. This brooch is in poor condition and is severely corroded. Length 46.0mm, width 25.6mm, diameter (wings) 5.5mm, thickness (at side knops) 5.6mm, weiLght 16.51g.

Roman brooch; cast copper alloy dolphin brooch. An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative (Dolphin) of Roman date (43-150AD). Length 34.4mm, width 29.9mm, diameter (wings) 5.8mm, thickness (at head) 6.3mm, weight 9.65g. The brooch is a dark greenish/brown in colour with an even but slightly abraded patina. The bow head is hump-like, and angular (comma shaped) in profile.The pin is missing .

 A complete, cast copper alloy finger ring,  Post-medieval in date AD1500 - 1700. The ring is plain except for a small key pattern area with a sub-rectangular design on the outer face. It is oval in section and would have been circular in plan, but is now slightly bent out of shape. Surfaces corroded. The patina is mid-dark brown with specks of green. Length 21.4mm, width 15.1mm, thickness 11.4mm, weight 8.61g.

The two lead shots remain joined as part of the original method of manufacture,by a small  integral narrowed bar. Thick cream patina with some patches of silvery-grey over surfaces.

An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval cast copper-alloy double-looped, spectacle buckle frame. (c. 1350-c. 1650); Length 23.5mm, width 17.8mm, thickness 1.7mm, weight 2.08g. The frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear. Each loop is oval in plan and similar in size and each loop is slightly bevelled at the front on its inner edge. Spindle whorl; cast lead spindle whorl of uncertain date with basket-weave pattern. It measures; diameter 28.6mm, thickness 8.5mm, weight 23.48g. In plan the object is sub-circular while in section the object is bi-conical. The object has a central perforation which is roughly sub-circular in plan. It is decorated on the obverse and reverse, by a series of moulded basket-weave design and sub-circular pellets. The pellets are laid out within the basket-weave pattern. The object is light brown in colour with traces of white around its edges.
