A complete copper alloy crotal bell of post medieval date (AD 1500-1850). The object is of a single cast form with the two hemispheres divided by a slightly raised horizontal circumferential rib. A sound hole is placed on each side of the integral rectangular suspension loop with a sub-circular perforation, which is in the centre of the upper hemisphere. There is an incised decorative pattern consisting of repeating semi-circles, creating a 'sunburst' pattern. On the lower hemisphere there is a sound hole on each side, close to the joining rib. A medieval silver douzain of Henry IV of France (1589-1610). Worn and chipped condition. Counter-stamped on the reverse with a fleur-de-lis in an oval of pellets. This mark revalued the coin at 15 deniers under Louis XIII following an ordinance of June 1640 - the coin could then be used in the French colonies in North America (Nouvelle France).
