An incomplete cast copper alloy disc or plate brooch of tutulus type, dating to the Roman period, circa AD175-250. The hinge, pin and most of the catchplate are missing. There is also circumferential loss to the plate - approximately 95% of the plate survives. The brooch is sub circular in plan view. In section the brooch has central hollow conical projection which rises in two steps with a small central knop. The plate has a rimmed edge leading to a recessed field surrounding the cone. An incomplete cast copper alloy Anglo-Saxon catch piece from a sleeve or wrist clasp dating to the Early Medieval period, circa AD500-600. Two lugs protruding from the centre of the front edge would have originally formed a rectangular eye. On the opposing edge are remains of four rivet holes which would have attached to the garment. A complete silver hammered penny of John (1199-1216). The coin belongs to Class 5aii, North no 969. The mint is London and the moneyer is Willelm which is spelt 'Willen' on the coin. Obverse shows a forward facing bust with pellets in the hair. The 'X' is divided between the hand and the sceptre. Obverse legend: hENRICVS REX. The reverse shows a voided short cross with four joined pellets in each quarter and a cross pommee initial mark. Reverse legend: WILLEM ON LVN. Diameter: 18.76mm. Thickness: 0.87mm. Weight: 1.2g. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman terret ring dating to the 1st and 2nd century AD. A semi-circular loop survives beneath the bar with a knop on either side of a rectangular panel. Originally, there would have been an integral, semi-circular sectioned, larger circular hoop, now incomplete. A copper alloy annular buckle with central vertical bar, pin and remains of buckle plate and rivet. The buckle could date from the Medieval to Post Medieval period but is probably late Medieval. The buckle frame is cast and oval in cross section. There is a narrowing of the frame curiously located to the opposing side of the frame from where the pin currently rests. The constriction is 4.04mm in length and at its narrowest point measures 2.42mm in diameter. A cast copper alloy late Iron Age to early Roman strap fitting or slide. The strap fitting is incomplete with the attachment missing. The strap fitting is composed of 2 'eye' forms (characteristic of the Iron Age) which create a double-lozenge shape in plan view. The 'eyes' take the form of prominent domes within a sunken circular field. The diameter of each 'eye' is approximately 8.3mm. The outside edge of both 'eyes' tapers to a point. A cast copper alloy unidentified object. The date of the object is uncertain but it is probably Post-Medieval to Modern. The object is distorted and there is a break on one side but the damage is not new. Originally, the object would have been a flat frame creating a sub-rectangular aperture approximately 12mm x 60mm. Although the frame is quite narrow it has a protruding knop to one side. Originally, the object would have had a maximum length and width of approximately 92mm x 27mm. A cast copper alloy Roman umbonate brooch, dating AD 100-250. The brooch is incomplete. The most significant damage is the missing catch-plate and associated part of the disk-plate. An integrally cast suspension loop is damaged; the edge of the disk-plate is slightly bent and the terminal end of the pin is missing. The damage is not new. The brooch is circular in plan view, with the centre protruding forwards in a cone and six equally spaced small knops around the circumference of the disc. A complete Medieval heart-shaped brooch. The frame of the brooch is cast into the shape of an asymmetric heart with a small protrusion at the point to the right. A small silver medieval book clasp, of Howsam type A.9.1, probably 14th to 15th century in date. The clasp comprises two sheets of silver. The upper sheet has two folds, forming the upper surface and two sides of a rectangular box with a circular terminal. The lower surface of the rectangular box and circular terminal is formed of a flat sheet. The upper and lower parts have been riveted together, with the remains of a strap surviving between.

Description: A complete silver Early-Medieval hooked tag with a circular plate and two protruding pierced lobes for attachment. The edge of the plate is decorated with a border of pellets made from a groove within multiple transverse lines; the effect is of a ladder pattern or rope pattern.
