A complete cast lead alloy spindle whorl, possibly dating from the Early Medieval period. It is circular in plan with straight sides making is rectangular in section. The central perforation has a diameter of 9mm and there is no internal cavity in the wall of the perforation. One face is decorated with moulded raised ribs in groups of three forming fan like motifs, radiating from the perforation to the outside edge.

A lead alloy spindle whorl of probable Medieval date. The spindle whorl is plano convex, with one face more shallow than the other, and it has a raised border around the outer edge. There is also a central circular perforation which tapers from a diameter of 9.8mm to 10.1mm; there is no indentation in the wall of the perforation. Both faces are decorated with a series of raised dots separated by lines radiating from a central raised border. The body of the whorl shows very little wear. The spindle whorl has a creamy brown and white patina.

An incomplete cast lead alloy spindle whorl of possible Medieval date (about 1100-1500). The whorl is circular in plan and is roughly biconical, having a high prominent collar and raised border around the central perforation; this side is designed with a series of lozenges to create a possible floral motif. A lead alloy spindle whorl of unknown date. The object is sub circular in plan and sub rectangular in cross section. The top of the whorl slopes and has a deep gouge at one edge, demarcated by creamy brown and grey patinas; one side is shallower than the other. The central perforation has an internal diameter of 7.5mm; slight wear may be seen on the wall of the perforation, showing up as a creamy brown patina. The whorl has a creamy white patina. Spindle whorls were used from the Iron Age onwards are are very difficult to date.

A cast lead alloy spindle whorl of uncertain date but probably Medieval. It is discoidal with slightly rounded sides. There is a bulge of metal round the edge on one face. There is a central hole which is placed slightly off centre and has a diameter of 11.4mm. There is no cavity in the wall of the central perforation. The whorl has light surface wear but with only a few deep gouges. It has a creamy brown and white patina. A lead alloy spindle whorl of unknown date. It is circular in plan and plano-convex but quite thin. The edges are ragged and the central perforation is in a hollow on one face. The surface is pitted and the whole is covered with a thick white patina. Whorls were used from the Iron Age onwards are are very difficult to date.

A cast lead or lead alloy spindle whorl. The whorl is discoid and rectangular in section. There are some scratches on the sides and faces. Visible cracks may be found on the sides but the whorl is in good condition overall. It has a creamy light brown patina throughout with areas of wear on the faces demarcated by a dark grey patina.
