A worn fragment of a Post Medieval cast tin-alloy (?pewter) single-looped buckle from a shoe or belt probably dating to c. AD 1700-1850. This artefact is a fragment of the frame of the buckle which is broadly rectangular in plan with slight curvature to one end, and has moulded decoration representing cast scrolls and plant forms on the upper surface. These extend in four concave protrusions at the exterior edge of the frame, with a single raised lip at the internal edge. The coin has extensive wear on both obverse and reverse faces but both depict stylised raised designs that bear similarity to the imagery depicted on Iron Age silver units and gold staters. The obverse is unclear, whilst the reverse possibly depicts a branch, or sheaf of grain.

The rider can be seen with a wide-brimmed hat and long buttoned coat with wide cuffs, and long cuffed boots.
