Lead pilgrims' badge of Our Lady and Child on a crescent moon. Late C15th/early C16th. It was thought this badge was associated with the shrine of Our Lady of Boulogne, but Brian Spencer has argued that the badge is associated with Our Lady of Willesden. It is thought this cult was popular amongst women who caught VD, and it was recorded in 1528 it was popular amongst women who have deceived their husbands.
