Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Flint core, off white in colour, appears to be crazed as a result of exposure to heat, smooth cortex on the outer surface approximately 1mm in thickness. Scar on the face 2mm in depth, possible striking platform present, but looks more like crazing paving than flint. This piece appears to have been subjected to intense heat.

Oval in plan, concave in profile, mottled grey/bronw piece of flint. Dorsal face distal end has retouch from the medial to left margin of the edge, the distal edge appears to be darker in colour to the rest of the piece. The right margin is sharp and may have been retouched in places, may have been a blade/knife. The proximal edge appears stepped, as if pieces have been broken off, possible attempt at backing (but not very well), with the left margin and edge appearing sharp and more prominent on the dorsal face.
The ventral face appears very smooth from the proximal to medial an…

A mottled brown and grey flint scraper, appears to be either a horseshoe or end and side scraper, material likely derived from a local beach pebble. Lozenge in plan and plano convex in profile and section. The scraper has been unifacially touched at the distal and lateral ends of the dorsal face. Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Mottled grey to brown piece of flint with white inclusions, consistant in appearance with material derived from local beach pebble. The dorsal face has a medial ridge running along the centre from proximal to distal, the remaining point is located at the proximal end of the tool, while it appears that there may have been a second point at the distal end which may haven been snapped off then retouched to remove sharp edges.
Retouching is present around the curves on both the right and left margins on the dorsal face leading up to both the stub (distal end) and remaining point (proxi…

Brown in colour, flint flake knife, oval in plan and plano convex in profile and section. Medial ridge running from the along the centre of the implement from the proximal to distal ends, less than 1% o the cortex remains on the dorsal side tip (distal end). Appears to have sustained damage at the proximal end dorsal side, would not associate this with use wear or retouching. Dorsal face has been backed on the right margin distal end and retouched on the left margin distal end. There does apear to have been retouching on the right margin of the ventral face, agan at the distal end. Po…

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A translucent smokey brown piece of flint, square in plan and flat in profile. Conchoidal waves are present on both the dorsal and ventral faces. The dorsal face appears to have been retouched down the whole of the left margin edge, the proximal end has been removed below the bulb of percussion leaving sharp edges implying it has been snapped off rather than worked, while the distal edge has smoother sides implying retouching or deliberate wear and tear.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Mottled light to dark grey flint blade, appears to have been snapped at the distal end, this end showing clean sharp edges indicative of snapping rather than being reworked. The proximal end dorsal face shows signs of retouching at the base of the medial ridge, which runs along the dorsal face ending at the distal end of the artefact.
The left side of the medial ridge (dorsal face) has a gentle concave slope ending at the left margin, whcih shows some signs of retouching, the right side of the medial ridge has a more steeper concave slope ending at the right margin.

A pale grey blade flake, convex in profile, the dorsal face has about 50% cortex covering its face on the left side, there appear to be indentations on the right side of the dorsal face and right margin. Proximal end has been snapped through the bulb of percussion. The right margin is sharp but does not appear to exhibit any obvious signs of retouching.
Described by William Andrefsky, Lithics Macroscopic Approaches to Analysis, as a Conchoidal flake, page 19 figure 27.

A brown grey translucent flint bladelet, appears to have been backed on the left margin, whilst the serrated cutting edge runs along the whole length of the right margin. The ventral and dorsal faces can be identified through the deep conchoidal wave cutting across the centre of the ventral face, the distal end appears to have been snapped.

A mottled grey to brown flake knife, appears to have been bifacially worked, the proximal end, right margin on the dorsal face shows signs of retouch resulting in a blade edge. Left side of the dorsal face exhibits several strike marks from proximal to distal edges.
The ventral face, shows signs of heat damage, with at least three 'blow out' impressions within the surface of the flint, the bulb of percussion appears to be present but has been partially removed by the heat damage and retouching. The distal edge appears to have been broken then backed.

A browny grey piece of flint with a light brown streak, and was likely derived from a local beach pebble, it appears to be the remains of a tool or possible graver. The dorsal face has a prominent projection of flint in the centre with a ridge eminating to the exterior margins. Some signs of retouching on the right margin dorsal face, to an angle of 80-90 degrees, also present on the right side of the dorsal face is a deep groove, which eminates from the centre. The bulb of percussion is prominent on the ventral face, with conchoidal ripples covering the whole face up to the distal e…

A light brown/off white triangular piece of flint, dorsal face exhibits signs of conchoidal waves eminating from the proximal end, the bulb of percussion has been removed, appearing to have been either snapped or broken off from the body, the edges at the proximal end are still sharp, although on the ventral face appear to have been struck. The right margin dorsal face has been retouched, a medial ridge covers from the distal to the proximal edges, with a deep gouge at the left side of the distal end of the medial ridge.

A mottled brown piece of flint, appears to have been subjected to intense heat on the dorsal face, the dorsal face is shiny in comparison the the ventral face. The proximal end appears to have been snapped, with the edges still sharp, the bulb of percussion is still present on the ventral face, which also exhibits an indentation at the centre of the face.
The right and left margins are sharp but so not exhibit any signs of retouching. The artefact appears to be the tip of a small knife.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Incomplete oblique arrowhead made of a mottled grey piece of flint, triangular in plan. The dorsal face margins with the exception of the proximal end exhibit retouch marks, and the proximal end appears to have been snapped off, with the edges remaining sharp. The ventral face of the proximal end has some indications of retouch possibly prior to the item being snapped. Right side of the distal end appears to have some retouch marks, whilst the left side distal end may have been backed. The left side distal end is thicker than the right.

Appears to be a transverse flint arrowhead, manufactured from mottled grey flint. The artefact appears to have been broken on the left side of the dorsal face. Even though the item has been bi facially retouched, the dorsal face exhibits most of the work. The right margin of the of the dorsal face extending from the proximal to distal ends has extensive retouching marks, the distal end of the artefact appears to be more flat, and yet does not exhibit any strike marks. The left margin on the dorsal face appears to have been snapped off, with the edges still appearing sharp. Possib…

A mottled grey/brown piece of flint, which appears to be a scraper which has been manufactured from a core, the dorsal face has an indent from the right to left margin implying prior removal of a blade. The distal edge has has been reworked and appears to have undergone heavy use, the right margin appears to have been broken and then reshaped to blunt the edges, while the left margin provides evidence as to the lack of quality of the material.
The ventral face is rough in texture, and shows various faults within its surface, the surface relfectivity appears to be matt rather than…

A translucent brown piece of flint, which appears to have been a blade of knife before being converted to a what appears to be an end scraper. The dorsal face, distal end right margin exhibits conchoidal waves from strike marks, some retouching appears evident on sections of the left margin, but this could also be attributed to post use damage. The proximal end of the dorsal side appears to have several strike marks to blunt the edge.

Object type: LITHIC IMPLEMENT
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Cornwall
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A light to mid grey flake of flint. The dorsal face has jagged edges with only one possible site of retouch at the proximal edge right margin. The ventral face, exhibits conchoidal waves, although the bulb of percussion does not appear to be present. This appears to be more of a piece of debutage used as a one off tool, rather than deliberately manufactured. Possible soft struck rather than hard on one side.
