Description by Nicholas Thomas: This is a utilized flake with a retouched edge. The dorsal face shows retouch at the distal end of the right margin. There is use wear all round. The ventral face is clean except for small use-wear scars around the edges. The retouched edge is not visible from this face. The flint is honey brown in colour. It is probably derived from a local beach pebble but this is uncertain with only tertiary cortex. Mercer (1981) illustrates a similar piece on Page 129 Fig 56 Nos L104 which he calls an edge trimmed flake and dates to the Neolithic.
