The object's central section is oval in plan with a hole to receive the tang of the dagger. The hole is wider at one end than the other, which indicates the dagger had a single-sided blade. Two arms, circular in section, project from the centre, and a side-guard projects from the side, terminating in a scallop shape with incised lines representing the lines of a shell. There is simple linear decoration near the ends of the arms, an incised cross on the end of each…

Post-medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame, both loops identical; square internally and with sub-triangular solid outer edges. The loops are either side of a central bar on which a pin of folded sheet copper alloy remains. There are knops on the long edge of the frame, either side of the bar; the edge is bevelled all the way around the outside on the upper face. Both sides are undecorated but there is grey discolouration of the metal which suggests that the object was tinned. The object is slightly bowed, both ends being bent slightly up. Bronze Age or Iron Age possible brooch loop or mount? The object is sub-circular, slightly assymmetrical inside the loop perhaps due to wear resulting from use. It has a projecting stub which may originally have been a long sub-triangular point but appears to have broken off. There is a raised pattern on the projecting stub, of which an elongated rhomboid and part of two others are visible. T…
