Description The object is a decorative gold ring with a deep oval bezel (height 5.7mm), once set with a small uncut (cabochon) stone, perhaps a sapphire. There is a small transverse ridge on each side of the bezel at the junction with the hoop, and the lower half of the bezel is chamfered to give a truncated biconical profile.
