A silver Roman Republican denarius probably struck by the moneyer P Sepullius Macer for Julius Caesar in 44 BC (Reece period 1). The reverse depicts Venus standing left holding Victory and sceptre; at bottom of sceptre, a shield. Mint of Rome. Cf. RRC 480/9.
