A cast lead alloy token, either Medieval or Post Medieval in date. It is uniface, with an unclear square shape, that may be either joined initials (i.e. I T), or more likely a type 13 according to the Powell Classification (framework). A single pellet sits outside the frame. The plain reverse has two short parallel cuts. It measures 14.16 mm DIA x 3.28 mm TH and weighs 2.58 g. See Fletcher 2005

A medieval silver annular brooch, now broken and distorted. The brooch is formed of wire of square section, twisted to form a cable design, and with a row of granulations along each side. The brooch has broken at the restriction which would have held the pin. For similar finds, see Treasure Annual Report 2000 (no 134). The brooch probably dates to the 13th or 14th century. Maximum length: 37mm.

A medieval silver-gilt stirrup-shaped finger-ring (the gilding now worn). The ornate bezel consists of a single, central knop beneath which four further knops form a quatrelobe. Each side of the bezel is engraved with cross-hatching within a triangular panel. On the hoop are four square panels engraved with foliage in the form of a cross, between which, on the sides of the hoop, are lozenge-shaped panels of engraved decoration. Small lozenge-shaped decorative mount(?), cast in one piece with central boss in the form of a five-petalled flower within moulded edging. The raised petals of the flower are worn while the gilding on the rest of the front of the object is well-preserved. Projecting tabs at top and bottom of the lozenge are broken; there are also broken-off remains of three other tabs around the edge of the lozenge. Reverse plain.

A medieval silver brooch in the from of a trefoil. The trefoil is grooved to give greater dimensionality. Placed between each foil is a large acorn knop. The third of these is adapted to accommodate the attachment of a pin. Dimensions and metal content: X-ray fluorescence analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate silver content of 95 per cent.

A gold finger ring, the hoop engraved with decorative scrolls and the crescent shaped bezel set with a blue stone (probably a sapphire). A comparable example at the British Museum is O M Dalton, Catalogue of Finger-Rings in the British Museum (London, 1912), no. 1774, set with a ruby, which was found at Whitstable.

A medieval silver-gilt coin pendant made from a penny from the reign of Edward I (class 4b), minted at Canterbury between 1282-9. The practice of converting coins to items of jewellery such as brooches or pendants was quite widespread and is usually considered to be done close to the period of coin production. A complete cast copper alloy Medieval casket key dating from late 12th - early 14th centuries AD. It has a a circular bow with a rectangular collar separating it from the solid stem, which is sub-rectangular in section. The stem tapers towards the bit and the projecting pin. The bit is simple, with two clefts, one on the underside, near the channel, and one on the topside close to the ward. It is in good condition, with a dark green patina. It measures 44.00 mm L x 14.95 mm W x 3.51 mm TH and weighs 6.69 g. A similar key can be seen in Read 2001, no 538.

An incomplete cast copper alloy mount fragment, probably Medieval to Post Medieval in date. It is subrectangular in section and a rough fleur de lis shape in plan; the outer arms are elongated and curve downwards, whilst the middle section is broken just above its base. It has a plain reverse, and the front has two moulded indentations at the bases each arm. It is in good condition, and has a dark green patina; there is an old break at the base of the fragment. It measures 19.39 mm L x 9.58 mm W x 1.78 mm TH and weighs 0.67 g.

An incomplete lead alloy Medieval seal matrix. It is circular in plan, with an integral non-pierced lug on the reverse. The reverse is plain, but the front has a six pointed star ('Star of David') within a circle. The inscription along the edge is mostly missing, but the extant legend reads '+ S N[---] E'. The seal matrix has been broken in half, either cut or bent off. The old break folds inwards towards the front of the seal, creating a small lip.
