An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch, of headstud type, dating from around AD 75 - 200. The brooch is incomplete, with the lower bow and foot missing. The spring and pin is missing, as is the axis bar and the sleeve, leaving only a double pierced lug behind the head (in contrast to the normal single loop). A fragment of a copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. Only the middle of the bow survives. It has a worn acanthus moulding of three petal above and three below a central disc. There is a double collar above and below. The lower bow is D shaped in cross-section. The breaks are worn and patinated. It is 26.6mm long, 5.7mm wide and 7.2mm thick. It weighs 3.2g.

It has a full-round waisted top knob, a narrow head-plate with chamfered sides and behind it, a single loop to support the spring mechanism. An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch, a Colchester derivative hinged type dating from AD 43 - 120. The hinged pin is missing, and the tubular housing is incomplete. The surface is worn and corroded obscuring any decoration on the wings. The bow has a central ridge and tapers to a point but the foot is missing. It is 36.5mm long, 24.5mm wide and 12.9mm thick. It weighs 8.6g.  It is probably Mackreth (2011) CD H 4.c group, page 86.

A fragment of a copper alloy Roman brooch, a headstud type dating from AD 75 - 200. Only the head of the brooch survives and it is very corroded. It has plain wings with a tubular housing behind for the axis bar. The hinged pin is missing. There is a very worn integral headstud on the top of the bow. The lower bow is broken, so only two recessed cells for enamel survive. They appear to contain red and blue enamel.  It is 16.6mm long, 11.9mm wide and 6.6mm thick. It weighs 3g. This brooch appears to fit into Mackreth's (2011) headstud group 4.

At the top it is broken across a circular hole, probably the attachment point for a separate head stud, now missing. The cachplate is complete apart from the turnover. A fragment of a copper alloy Roman brooch of the headstud type dating from AD 75 - 200. Only the head of the brooch survives. It has rectangular wings concealing the tubular housing for the copper alloy axis bar and the hinged pin, of wich only the copper alloy wire head survives. There is a crest on the top of the bow; a pseudo forward hook, which terminates at the hole for the missing headstud. The rest of the brooch is missing. The remaining portion is 14.4mm long, 18.6mm wide and 9.8mm thick. It weighs 4.9g.
