A fragment of slate tablet, or writing slate of late Post medieval to modern, date, about AD 1850 - 1950.  The fragment has a chapfered edge, probably indicating it was made in a factory and designed to have a wooden frame applied to the edge. Frames are thought to have been routinely added to slates from the mid 19th century (Shaffrey, 2022, Finds Reserach Group Datasheet 56). The slate is also marked with guidelines. The object is in the form of an upturned truncated cone (like a plant pot, to which purpose the object has probably, in its later years, been employed). A possible stone cannon ball of Late Medieval to Post Medieval date. It is sub-spherical and made from what appears to be igneous rock, perhaps granite with possible feldspar seams. It is 50.1mm in diameter and weighs 145g. At just under 2 inches diameter, this ball is the right size for a Falconet cannon. Falconets were invented in the late 15th century and were used throughout the 16th and 17th centuries.

A possible stone cannon ball of medieval to Post Medieval date, about AD 1450- 1700. It is sub-spherical and made from what appears to be igneous rock, perhaps granite with possible feldspar inclusions. At 2.6 inches diameter, this ball is just too big for a Falcon cannon. It could be made for a non-standard firearm if it is a cannon ball. Other uses in industry cannot be ruled out. It is 65.6mm in diameter and weighs 380g.

A fragment of chert core, probably dating from the Mesolithic or Neolithic period, about 10,000 BC - 2200 BC. It is formed on dark grey to brown chert. The core is irregularly shaped and has at least three striking platforms, with flakes and blades removed on various angles and from various directions. A chert core of probable Mesolithic date, about 10,000 BC - 4000 BC. It is formed on light grey mottled chert. It is irregularly shaped, sub-cylindrical and has many blade removal scars. These are mainly from two, bipolar striking platforms, but there are a few struck at right angles. There are some signs of possible platform dressing at the proximal end (as photographed). It is 45.4mm long, 30.6mm wide and 22.3mm thick. It weighs 43.11gm.

A chert end scraper dating from the late Neolithic to the early Bronze Age (3300BC - 1000BC). It is formed from mottled light grey chert. It is subrectangular in plan with a rounded distal end and triangular in section. It has short, sub-parallel, semi-abrupt retouch on the distal end. There is also a small area of short, sub-parallel, semi-abrupt retouch on the proximal end of the left side. It is 55mm long, 25.4mm wide and 9.3mm thick. It weighs 10.29gm.

A water worn stone pebble which was recovered because it is not the usually occurring geology in this area. It is a light grey-brown in colour with some dark inclusions and a few flecks of quartz. It is probably a type of granite. It is rounded to a triangular shape. It does not appear to be related to any manufacturing process but is recorded in case it is an exotic feature which has been brought to the site by human activity.

A damaged stone axe of the Neolithic period dating from 3500-2100BC. It is oval in section with a smooth surface. Both ends of the axe are missing, having broken away in antiquity. There is also a chip out of one side, exposing the rougher stone beneath. It is 70.2mm long, 60.8mm wide and 33mm thick. It weighs 204gm.
