A complete copper-alloy Medieval French jetton, dating from c. AD 1418-1437. French 'Shield of France' type, depicting shield of France on obverse with the legend: +AVE MARIA: GRACIA: PLENA: and a triple-stranded cross fleuretty on reverse with a letter 'A' in each quarter within an arch of four tressures. Around the cross, a series of alternating pellets and rosettes is visible in place of a legend. Mitchiner (1988, No.s 524 and 525, page 192) discribes this as the Shield of France modern issue dated c. 1418 - c. 1437 AD, probably struck at Paris. No exact parallell for this jetto…

A Post-Medieval probable strap distributor for a sword belt fitting dating c. AD 1500-1700. The fitting is broadly triangular in plan view and sub-rectangular in section, with an even green and reddish brown patina in evidence all over the surfaces of the object. It comprises of three conjoined rings arranged in the form of a triangle. At the top of the strap junction, two of the sub-circular three rings are conjoined with a small sub-triangular divide between them, which slightly projects from the apex of the piece.
