A complete copper alloy, post medieval dress hook dating from AD 1500 - 1700. It has an openwork rectangular loop with a design of arches and floral work (?). There is a knop on each corner of the main frame of the fastener nearest the hook, extending either side of the hook. The hook is present though slightly bent and missing its very tip. Dark/light green patina.
29.98mm in length, 14.93mm in width, 1.88mm thick and 1.73g in weight.
The FLO adds: This design does not appear to be in Hooked-Clasps and Eyes by Brian Read, though it fits into his Class E type 2.

A complete copper alloy, post medieval dress hook dating from AD 1500 - 1700, with a rectangular loop and a central circular element with a lobed frame and six hollows. At the centre is a concavity containing a pellet surrounded by a serrated ridged circle. Extending to the hooked element of the fastener is a section of 4 diagonal grooves extending outwords from the centre left and right. The hook is present though slightly bent and terminates to a point. The rear of the fastener is flat and undecorated. Dark/light green patina.
