Silver long-cross penny of Edward I (1272-1307), Canterbury mint, Class 10ab2, c.1301-2. Plain cross as the initail mark, crown as class 9b converted to bifoliate, the letter W is formed from two overlapping letter V's. The coin is full in flan with no cracks, the bust is worn and scratched, the obverse legend is clear. The reverse cross is worn and scratched as are the pellets in the CAN quarter, the reverse legend is clear. Obverse legend: +EDWARD R ANGL DNS hYB. A silver Medieval coin; a short cross penny of Henry III (1216 - 1272), Class 7b, dating from AD 1222 - 1236. The coin is struck by Osmund at London. The flan is slightly bent. It measures 17.4mm diameter, 0.9mm thick. 1.3g. See North number 979.
