A incomplete silver half groat of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603). London mint. Third issue c.1583-1603. Mintmark escollop dating to the period 1584-6. North vol 2, p 137, no 2016. The coin is very worn on the obverse as is the reverse. The edge of the coin is clipped. Diameter 16.65mm, thickness 0.42mm, weight 0.72g.
