A complete medieval copper-alloy buckle with pin and folded sheet plate, c.1200-1400. The undecorated frame is single-looped and D-shaped, and is rounded in cross-section. The copper-alloy pin is circular in cross-section and is wrapped around the bar. The undecorated rectangular plate is made from a piece of copper-alloy sheet folded in half with a pin slot and frame recesses cut. An incomplete cast copper-alloy single loop spur buckle dating to c.1250-1450. The oval frame is now largely missing (worn/corroded breaks) with small lobed knops either end of the strap bar which are also now quite worn. The remains of a separate copper-alloy rivet are evident below the strap bar and a small part of the pin remains attached, wrapped around the bar through a pin hole. A cast complete copper alloy single loop rectangular buckle frame with pin. The frame has bevelled sides front and rear. The pin is D shaped in cross section and terminates in a point. There is a knop on the front near to where the pin curls around the frame. The metal has a green patina. It is 33.45mm in length, 21.23mm in width, 3.33mm thick, 7.53g. The pin is 24.68mm in length. Post Medieval cast copper-alloy double loop buckle frame with trapezoid loops. The loops widen away from the strap bar and are triangular in section with a flat back and angled inner and outer sides. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed with lobed knops at either end and the pin is missing. It has a light green patina with evidence of tinning to the surface on both the front and rear. It is 24.27mm long and 20.25mm wide and 2.16mm thick and weighs 3.21 grams. Whitehead (2003:82) illustrates a similar example, no.507, which he dates to c.AD 1570-1700. Compare PAS entry: SOM-6FF598
