A complete copper alloy awl of unknown date from Bronze Age to Medieval (1250 BC- AD 1500).  The awl is square in cross section except for the blunt points at either end.  It is in good condition and has no distinguishing marks.  It has a grey green patina. Measurements:  Length 6.1mm, width: 4.4 and weight 5.17grams. A complete medieval copper alloy two piece swivel fitting dating to c AD 1100-1300.  The object consists of two C-shaped loops and bases which are joined together by a swivel mechanism which is still in good working order.  The two loops have zoomorphic heads at either end of the loops.  The animal depicted has almond shaped eyes, a large mouth with a lower jaw that juts out to meet the bases.  The two bases join together to form a sphere.  Both bases have a groove encircling them. A copper alloy early medieval hooked tag dating to c. AD600-1150.  It consists of a triangular sheet of metal which tapers abruptly on one end finishing with a backward bent pointed hook.  There are two attachment holes punched along the shortest edge of the tag.  The front face is plain except for a short transverse groove just above the termination of the tag in the hook.  The other face is undecorated. The tag belongs to Read Class A Type 1. Measurements:  Width 13.9mm, thickness 1.1mm and weighs 1.29 grams.

A  copper alloy mediallion celebrating the marriage of Eugenie to Napoleon III in 1853.   There is a small hole for attachment of a ribbon or similar to wear the medallion.  The obverse shows a bust of Eugenie facing left and the legend reads S.M.L.IMPERATRICE EUGENIE.  The reverse legend is within a wreath reads NEE EN 1826 MARIEE A NAPOLEON III EN 1853.   Measurements:  Thickness 1.2mm, Diameter 23.2, Weight  3.98 grams.

A complete Medieval to Post Medieval lead uniface token,  Powell type 14.  the token has been cast with a raised design of an equal armed cross with a pellet in each quarter on the obverse.  The reverse is flat and undecorated.  Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally, they are therefore hard to date precisely. Measurements:  diameter 22.5mm, thickness 2.6mm, weght 6.71 grams.

A fragment of Medieval to Post Medieval cast copper alloy pot foot, dating to c. AD 1100-1700.  The foot is sub rectangular in section with a longitudinal rib down the centre of the foot.  The patina is a mixture of grey green  with flecks of red on the front of the foot, whilst the reverse side is mostly a strong orange red. An incomplete Post Medieval to Modern, cast single looped sub-rectangular buckle frame, dating to c. AD 1800-1900. In section the buckle frame is sub circular. The bar is slightly offset and narrowed, opposite the bar is a pin rest, the pin is missing.  Some iron staining on the bar may indicate that the pin was an iron one.  Probably from horse harness.  Width 35.1mm, Height 29.1mm, maximum thickness 4.7mm.  Weight 13.41g. cf. An animal thigh bone (undecorated) probably of a sheep.  At one end a metal (probably lead), spike has been driven completely into the bone for approximately 90mm making the complete object disproportionately heavy at one end.   The head of the spike is visible as an uneven circle.  A mark looking like a capital " F" has been scratched across the head and part of the bone.   The purpose of driving the spike into the bone is unclear, but without having an X-ray done, it cannot be sure whether this object is indeed a marlin…
