A complete medieval copper alloy two piece swivel fitting dating to c AD 1100-1300. The object consists of two C-shaped loops and bases which are joined together by a swivel mechanism which is still in good working order. The two loops have zoomorphic heads at either end of the loops. The animal depicted has almond shaped eyes, a large mouth with a lower jaw that juts out to meet the bases. The two bases join together to form a sphere. Both bases have a groove encircling them.

An incomplete copper alloy post-medieval strap fitting with suspension hook, dating to the period c.AD 1500-1700. The mount has a circular cross-sectioned hook with a globular terminal, below this hook the fitting expands to two knops, before narrowing at the main body and then expanding to a tri-lobed terminal. It is decorated with a foliate design. There are two centrally positioned attachment points, one near the lower terminal and one just below the hook, both with the remains of iron rivets. A complete medieval copper alloy strap slide with internal rivet. The strap slide has a five sided arched frame, rectangular in section, the rivet being opposite to the apex of the arch.
The strap slide measures 18.1mm in length, 11.9mmin maximum width and 3.4mm in thickness. It weighs 0.96grams.
A similar example can be found in Egan & Pritchard (1991), p.147, no. 1252.

A Medieval copper alloy strap slide, probably dating to c. AD 1250-1400. The strap slide consists of a rectangular loop, rectangular in cross section, with an integral external rivet.
The fitting is 14.7mm in length, 12.7 mm in width, 1.74 in thickness and weighs 0.74 grams.

A complete post medieval copper alloy strap fitting dating to AD 1600-1700. The mount is flat, oval with two small knops at either end and is without discernible decoration. There are two lugs on the reverse. The strap fititng is 22.9mm long, 11.3mm wide, and 2mm thick. It weighs 2.10 grams.

A Post Medieval gilded cast copper alloy strap fitting or mount dating to the seventeenth century. The fitting is a Tudor rose design. On the reverse there are two (probably) integrally cast attachment lugs with a significant amount of leather still in situ. It is very similar to WILT-40C834. The fitting measures 17.37mm in diameter and is 6.32mm thick. It weighs 3.81 grams.

An incomplete copper alloy strap fitting with remnants of gilding of possible post medieval date (AD1540-AD1900). The fitting is an elongated rectangular plate with ornate decorative knops at either end. It bears some similarities to an integral buckle plate. There is a circular hole at one end surrounded by five knops, there would have been a similar configuration (now missing) at the opposing end. A complete cast copper alloy Post Medieval sword belt fitting, probably 17th century. The fitting is composed of a plate of ornate design with a trefoil shaped top which is pierced by a rivet hole with evidence of iron corrosion.. The fitting then narrows to a second (empty) rivet hole before narrowing again to form a suspension hook terminating in a globular knop. A post-medieval copper alloy strap fitting. The fitting is trefoil or fleur de lys in shape, openwork holes within the two lobes. The back is flat with two short integral studs. The fitting measures 29.02mm in length, 18.89mm in width and is 1.66mm thick. It weighs 2.10 grams.
This type of fitting dates to AD1600-1700.

A post-medieval copper alloy strap fitting for a sword. The fitting is sub triangular tapering to form a backward facing hook. The upper portion of the strap fitting has a concave edge, below this are two vertically arranged circular rivets in situ which have iron corrosion product surrounding them. The hook has a D-shape cross section. Both sides are undecorated.
The length of the fitting is 34.65mm, the maximum width 11.23mm and the thickness 2.15mm. It weighs 2.57 grams.

A complete copper alloy Post Medieval strap fitting. The fitting is flat on the back and D shaped in cross section. It is curved over to form a sub triangular clip at the top. The front face curves to the left and is 54.49mm in length. At the top the stem is 6.84mm wide, it then expands to 10mm before narrowing down to a small knop at the end with a width of 4.11mm. There is a horizontal groove just above the widest part of the stem, below which are two roughly horizontal grooves which may be later damage. It weighs 10.11 grams.

An incomplete Post Medieval cast copper alloy strap fitting. The mount is flat and ovoid in shape, it is probable that it once terminated with an elongated rounded knop as there seems to be a break at the elongated end.. No decoration is visible. The reverse is flat with the remains of two integral cylindircal lugs. The mount measures 25.11mm in length. 14.27mm at its widest point and is1.95mm thick (excluding the lugs). It weighs 2.14 grams.
A similar mount (complete with elongated rounded knop) can be found in Read (2001), No 328.

A copper alloy post medieval asymmetrical strap fitting dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1700. The mount consists of a central lobe broadly sub triangular in shape which narrows towards the top to a point, this lobe is separated by a horizontal groove from a sub-circular lobe. There is some decoration on the sub triangular lobe which is possibly floral. The reverse of the mount is flat and features two cylindrical integral lugs. The mount measures 27.22mm in length, 10.12mm at its widest point, and is 2.3mm thick (excluding the lugs). It weighs 2.06 grams.

A post medieval cast copper alloy strap fitting of irregular shape and uncertain design. The reverse of the fitting has two pointed lugs which still have a fragment of leather within them. The design could represent a flower. There is a central globular knop with three additional globular knops partially around the central one, beneath which are two raised curves, beneath these is a further raised curve on the edge of the fitting. It probably dates to the 17th century.

A very corroded cast copper alloy strap fitting with a looped end, probably dating to the Medieval period. The fitting comprises of a single bar which is bent back on itself through a 180 degrees expanded loop. The two arms would have sandwiched the strap which was held in place by two large copper-alloy domed head rivets, the remains of which still survive. An incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval strap slider, dating to c. 1250-1400 AD. The slider consists of a single, sub-rectangular loop with a drilled hole for a separate internal rivet. A portion of the rivet remains in the hole, but the majority of the rivet is now missing. The upper edge of the slider is sub-oval in section and the other three sides are all varying degrees of thickness and rectangular in section. The slider has a uniform dark jade green patina and is fairly corroded. It measures 16.8 mm long, 15.1 mm wide, 2.7 mm max. thickness and weighs 2.95 grams.

A fragment of the toggle-end of an early Post Medieval cast copper alloy toggle-clasp, probably dating to c. 16th-c.17th century AD. The toggle-end fragment consists of a raised and protruding toggle bar at one end, followed by a plate decorated with moulded relief including symmetrically cast bifurcated knops on both sides of a small circular rivet hole. The toggle-end fragment ends abrubtly in an old break through the middle of its open work and moulded relief decoration. It measures 21.9 mm long, 15 mm wide, 4.3 mm thick, and weighs 3.03 grams.
