A complete late medieval/ early post-medieval copper alloy stock jetton of Tournai struck under Louis XII (AD1497-1515) and the early reign of Francis I (AD 1515-47), letter 'V' type (for Virgo, the Virgin Mary) dating to AD 1497-21. The legend on both the obverse and reverse is a rendering of the popular inscription 'SIT NOMEN DOMINI' (from ‘Sit nomen Domini benedictum’ – ‘Blessed be the name of the Lord’). n.b. A complete post medieval copper alloy Nuremberg jetton of Hans Krauwinckel II (active AD 1586-1635) produced at Nuremberg (Germany). Rose and orb type. The obverse depicts three Crowns with three Lis, arranged centrifugally around a central Rose. The legend reads  * HANNS KRAVWINCKEL . IN .NVR.  The reverse depicts an Orb surmounted by a cross pattee within three arched tressure. Legend reads * GOTTES . GABEN .SOL . MAN. LOB . Rosette initial marks. Ref: Mitchener (1998: 440), no. 1534.

A French copper alloy jetton of the Rose shield of Tournai type with semi-Roman lettering. The obverse is a shield of Tournai bearing two towers of Tournai in chief and possibly fleur de lis in base, all in a seven arched tressure and bordered by a circle and legend. The reverse is a simple cross patty with floral ornament in each angle, also bordered by a circle and legend. This jetton type date to circa 1497 to 1521. Similar to but not identical to, Mitchiner (1988) No. 720.

The jetton has been crudely pierced. Probably struck between 1553-9. Similar to Mitchiner (1988) 1180. The weight is 1.62 grams. The diameter 26.03mm.
