Ralph Jackson, curator of Romano-British collections at the British Museum, writes: A gold earring probably of Roman date. The object is circular in plan and is made of plain gold wire of softened rectangular cross-section. The two ends of the hoop have been overlapped and twisted. A copper alloy brooch dating to the Roman period. The brooch is incomplete and very worn consisting only of a fragment of the curved bow. It is decorated with a moulded panel flanked by sets of three parallel lines. It weighs 5.5g and measures 26.22mm in length, 8.94mm at its widest point and 5.37mm in thickness. The brooch is possibly an example of a Roman trumpet brooch, parallels of which can be found in Hattatt, R. (2007) A catalogue of Richard Hattatt's Ancient Brooches, Oxford: Oxbow: 329, fig. 87.

A copper alloy Trumpet brooch dating to the 1st-2nd centuries of the Roman period. The brooch is incomplete, missing the pin, part of the head and most of the bow. It therefore, consists of a circular head (12.79mm in diameter) and a curved bow. There is no decoration remaining on the object. A copper alloy Trumpet brooch dating to the 1st-2nd centuries of the Roman period. The brooch is incomplete, missing the pin and it has been broken near the bottom of the bow so that the catchplate is also missing. It therefore, consists of a circular head (9.79mm in diameter) with a semi circular loop attached to the back and a curved bow with moulded decoration about halfway down. A cast copper alloy sword pommel of probable Medieval date. The pommel is 'melon' shaped, circular in plan and oval in section. There are rectangular perforations at both the top and the bottom of the object for the tang to pass through. One of these perforations has been made larger by a break in the object. The metal is green in colour and it largely well preserved. It weighs 16.8g and measures 19.69mm in height and 23.84mm in diameter.

A copper alloy spoon dating to the Roman period. The object consists of an oval bowl attached to a narrowed shank that terminates with a rectangular protrusion. The bowl and part of the shank are hollow on one side. The object is undecorated and green in colour. It weighs 5.6g and measures 41.41mm in length, 17.81mm in width and 3.07mm in thickness. The spoon is similar to one from the Colchester excavations of Mandolin shaped type, see Crummy, N. (1983) The Colchester Report 2, The Small Finds, Colchester: Archaeological Trust: 69f, no. 2019.

A copper alloy mount of probable Post Medieval date. The mount is is circular in plan with raised decoration on one side. The decoration is of a figure left, possibly a soldier, holding a onto two dogs or similar animals. The other side of the object is flat and undecorated. The object was probably used to mount an object such as a walking stick or a household fixture. The object is brown in colour and is in good condition. It weighs 1.9g and measures 15.04mm in diameter and 2.60mm in thickness.

A cast copper-alloy bar mount from the Medieval period. The mount is rectangular in plan and D-shaped in section. Its upper face has ridge and groove decoration across its width. The mount has a rounded terminal on one end, the opposite end has broken off. On the reverse is one rivet, which has been broken. It is possible that there was another rivet at the broken end of the object.The object is green in colour and it is in fair condition, but there is corrosion on the underside. It weighs 5.3g and measures 33.12mm in length, 10.53mm in width and 4.33mm in thickness.

A copper alloy bow and fantail brooch dating to the 1st/2nd centuries AD. The brooch is missing the spring mechanism, pin and foot. What remains is an undecorated head and curved bow that widens from a circular panel about halfway down the bow. This circular panel consists of another raised circle inside the border as decoration. The bow then widens into a fan, which has been broken, any decoration is therefore hard to see. The metal is green in colour. A cast Medieval button made from copper alloy with a glass setting. The object is domed and circular with alternating raised and recessed rectangular panels decorating the area around the central setting. Underneath the dome is small loop that would have attached the object to clothing or similar. The glass setting is red in colour and the rest of the object is green in colour.
