Object type: RETOUCHED FLAKE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Hertfordshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A large retouched flint flake of probable Neolithic date. It is triangular in shape and is dark grey in colour and lightly patinated. A small amount of cortex remains on the distal end of the ventral face. The dorsal surface is more highly patinated and also has damage caused by a plough striking the face. The dorsal surface also shows evidence of the removal of flakes from this face in various directions, probably in an attempt to flatten the face. The ventral surface shows concoidal ripples extending down the surface from the pointed end where there is evidence of a point and bulb o…

Object type: LITHIC IMPLEMENT
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Cumbria
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A natural flint 'pot-lid' which shows evidence of retouch and is of possible Neolithic date . The object is a light grey, heavily patinated pot-lid which has had a single small flake removed from one edge. Around the remainder of the edge however there is some slight evidence of use-wear suggesting that this may have been used as an ad-hoc tool. There is a second pot-lid missing from the outside surface of the object.

Object type: LITHIC IMPLEMENT
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A natural flint 'pot-lid' which has been retouched and is of possible Neolithic date . The object is a dark grey, lightly patinated pot-lid which has been retouched around the edges.
The retouch is short and scaled and semi-abrubt. It does not extend around the object completely but is deliberate and could have been used to create an ad-hoc tool for cutting or scraping rather than a specific tool.
