A complete copper alloy button and loop fastener, of Early Roman dating (AD 50 to AD 175). The head is inverted drop shaped (petal or tear drop), its upper surface largely occupied by a protruding boss with circumferential groove. The area beneath is of triangular section, tapering towards the basal point. The loop is triangular in shape, and springs from the top of the head's hollow reverse, extending horizontally backwards before angling upwards at 90 degrees. A complete copper alloy multifoil mount, of Medieval dating (AD 1350 to AD 1450). The mount is domed, with a concave underside and is of the multifoil type, having twelve teardrop shaped lobes, six larger than the others. The larger lobes are plain and decorated whereas the smaller lobes have been decorated with three raised pellets. The awl consists of a sub square sectioned artefact that gradually tapers from a wide centre, to a sharp point at both ends. No obvious tang is present.
