A complete lead or lead alloy flat spindle whorl, of Roman to Post Medieval dating (AD 43 - AD 1650). The spindle whorl is sub-circular in shape, and rectangular in cross section. Both upper and lower surfaces are flat. There is a hole of internal diameter 9.3 mm which is cast off-centre. The surface appears undecorated but this may be due to abrasion in the soil.
