A complete rectangular flat lead or lead alloy weight of Post Medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD 1800). The weight is flat, and rectangular in shape. The obverse depicts two recessed stamps. A probable Lion passant facing right above a castle. These two stamps are within in a right angled cartouche. The reverse has a slight concavity removed from one side. It measures 16.1 mm in length, 14.7 mm wide and 2.5 mm thick. It weighs 3.9 g. The weight is an off white colour, with an even surface patina.

No decoration or inscription is visible on the exterior. It has a diameter of 29.3 mm, is 13.9 mm wide and 11.0 mm thick. It weighs 18.9 g. The probable lead weight is a light to mid grey colour, with an even surface patina. Lead weights like this may have been skirt or hem weights or more likely gate weights to help close farm gates.
