A complete cast lead or lead alloy bi-convex decorated spindle whorl, of Roman to Post Medieval dating (1 - 1650 AD). The spindle whorl is sub circular in plan, and lentoid in cross section. Both the upper and lower faces have a cast rim along the edge (approx 3.8mm thick), with a similar rim around the inner edge. The upper face has been decorated with alternating diagonal ribs, in an approximate 'sun burst' style. The lower face has a mix of decoration. A complete cast lead alloy bi-convex decorated spindle whorl of probable Medieval dating (1300 to 1650 AD). The spindle whorl is sub-circular in plan. The central hole is sub oval in shape and has been cast slightly off centre. The diameter of the hole measures 5.22mm.
