It has a D shaped cross section with a prominent ridge on the external surface. This central ridge is 2.6mm wide and is flanked by two parallel recessed incomplete edges. The central ridge demonstrates a regular pattern of short vertical incised grooves. The internal surface of the ring exhibits a large number of file marks. No inscription appears to be present. The front part with intaglio setting is present. The intaglio is missing. The hoop is D section and flares at the shoulders into a wide flat bezel. A shallow recessed oval setting is present approximately centrally in the bezel, this would have been the setting for an intaglio, now missing. A gem is set into the bezel with a plain setting. The gem is oval. Under magnification, it is possible to see pitting and a conchoidal fracture in the surface of the gem, suggesting that it is probably glass as opposed to a gemstone.
