A complete copper alloy rectangular buckle strap plate of Medieval dating (c. AD 1350 to AD 1450). Originally folded around the strap bar is a buckle plate formed from sheet metal. The edges of the buckle plate have been narrowed to allow for the off setting of the strap bar on the buckle frame. Two rivet holes are present, with circular copper alloy rivets still in place, just behind the narrowed edge. These extend through to the fold on the reverse, where the rivets have been flattened. An incomplete sheet copper alloy buckle plate, of Medieval dating (AD 1350 to AD 1450). Approximately 50% of the buckle plate is present, consisting only of the front plate in two fragments. The reverse plate is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The plate is sub rectangular in plan and rectangular in section. Two circular perforations (holes) are present at the back and front of the plate. The buckle plate has broken across the back holes, as the plate had been bent upwards at that point.
