A complete copper alloy rectangular buckle strap plate of Medieval dating (c. AD 1350 to AD 1450). Originally folded around the strap bar is a buckle plate formed from sheet metal. The edges of the buckle plate have been narrowed to allow for the off setting of the strap bar on the buckle frame. Two rivet holes are present, with circular copper alloy rivets still in place, just behind the narrowed edge. These extend through to the fold on the reverse, where the rivets have been flattened.
