Modern: An folded silver foil from a walking stick cane. Hallmarks consist of an Anchor (Birmingham), Lion (standard mark), and date mark 'b' in rounded square surround. These are consistent with a date of 1901. Two other marks are present, either belonging to the maker or the owner of the artefact. These marks are a lozenge surround, with the letter H over the letters HB. Below the lozenge are the initials L B.
As this artefact has been dated to 1901 using the hallmark, it is less than 300 years old, and does not come under the requirements of the Treasu…
