A complete silver soldino of Doge Leonardo Loredan (AD 1501 to AD 1521), dating to the period AD 1501 to AD 1521. LAVS TIBI SOLI reverse type depicting a Standing figure of Christ. Mint of Venice, Italy. DIameter: 12.1 mm Thickness: 0.3 mm Weight: 0.3 g The silver soldino of Venice was known as the galyhalpens (galley-halfpence) as it was brought by the annual Venetian trading fleets. The soldino was about the size of English halfpennies and was popular because of a contemporary lack of small change.

A complete gilded silver decorated lozenge, of uncertain function but probably of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1500). The artefact consists of a lozenge or diamond shape, with a punched design on the front and an engraved numerals on the back. The front consists of a four petalled flower, with a central pellet and small rectangular leaves between each petal. Traces of gilding are present around the edges of the design. Two roman numerals are present on the back, XI. All edges appear intact. It measures 14.8 mm in length, 13.7 mm wide and 1.4 mm thick. It weighs 1.0 g. The a…

An incomplete enamelled copper alloy zoomorphic hound plate brooch of Late Roman dating (AD 300 to AD 400). Around 90% of the brooch is present, with the pin, tips of the legs missing and some of the enamel. The brooch is zoomorphic in shape, depicting a hound. The animal is facing right, and depicted in a running pose, with ears pointing diagonally behind, tail curled upwards and behind, the front leg pointing forwards and the rear leg pointing backwards.
