A copper alloy chafing dish handle of Medieval to Post Medieval date (AD 1400-1600).
The handle is roughly trapezoidal in shape, being wider at the bottom with rounded corners and a slightly inward curving lower edge whilst the upper edge short and straight. A complete lead or lead alloy probable lid for a small vessel or similar artefact, probably of Post Medieval dating (AD 1700 to AD 1900).
The lid is conical in shape, with a circular hole at the top. This has an internal diameter of 11.0 mm. A triangular shaped vertical handle is present at the opposite side to the rectangular hinge. Two attachment lugs are still present, with an iron axis bar between them. The inside is concave with a lip at the base.
It is 21.5 mm wide, 30.9 mm thick and 10.1 mm tall. It weighs 7.47 g.
The lid is a mid grey colour, with an even surface patina.

An incomplete lead alloy openwork handle, probably from a porringer type vessel, of 17th Century dating.
The handle is trefoil in shape, with sub oval loops forming the shape. It has a flat cross section. The outer edges are bevelled. The reverse is flat and undecorated. A patinated break is present at the base.
It measures 27.2 mm in length, 30.1 mm wide and 4.2 mm thick. It weighs 6.5 g.
The handle is a mid to dark grey colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement while within the plough soil has resulted in a loss of some of the original surface detail.

A rim fragment of a copper alloy vessel of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 - AD 1700).
The rim fragment has a rectangular cross section. The rim type consists of a bevelled type. This section is possibly from a cooking vessel either a cauldron or posnet (See Fig 1 in Butler, Green and Payne 2009 for examples of the vessel type). The fragment is a dark brown colour, with a fairly smooth surface patina.
Cooking vessels of this type were in use from as early as AD 1100 and slowly go out of use by AD 1850, after being superseded by cast iron pots and saucep…

An incomplete copper alloy foot or leg from a cast copper alloy cooking vessel of Late Medieval to Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1700).
The leg is sub rectangular in shape, with tapering sides. The upper edge has a broken terminal where the leg would have once attached to the pot. The sides taper to a lower rounded edge. On the outer face is a central moulded rib that runs vertically along the fragment. The opposing face is flat.

An incomplete copper alloy handle from a vessel, of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1700).
The handle is sub rectangular in shape, curved with an oval cross section. Patinated breaks are present at either end. No decoration is present on either side.
It measures 44.6 mm in length, 15.8 mm wide and 5.6 mm thick. It weighs 21.0 g.

An incomplete lead alloy anthropomorphic support (one of three) from the top of a chafing dish, of Post Medieval dating (AD 1575 to AD 1650).
Around 25% of the support is present, consisting of the base of the body and the start of two arms. The rest is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. An iron rivet secures the arms to either side of the body. It would have originally pivoted.

The possible handle fragment consists of a semi circular cross sectioned piece of copper alloy. It is sub rectangular in shape. Lots of small semi circular dents or impressions are present over the surface. A dark brown surface patina extends over all surfaces apart from the edges, which demonstrate old, predepositional breaks.

The attachment plant has been constructed from two pieces of sheet copper alloy metal, that has been riveted together with rolled sheet copper alloy rivets. The handle is now in four fragments.
