An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman buckle of Hawkes and Dunning (1961) Type IIA. Only part of the attachment end of the plate is preserved, the remainder of the object now missing due to old breaks. The surviving fragment is flat, rectangular in form and has the remains of openwork decoration. The attachment end bears three rectangular lugs, pierced to take the buckle frame. The entire object has a worn green patina and measures 27.7mm in width (incomplete), 38.7mm in length (complete), 4.6mm in thickness and 5.7g in weight.

An incomplete,copper alloy buckle dating to the Post Medieval period (1550-1650 AD). The buckle is double looped with an ovoid loop either side of the central strap bar. One loop ssurvives complete whilst the other is lost, with only a small part of the loop surviving and broken close to the strap bar. The centre of the loop expands to a rounded point and there are lobed knops on each end of the strap bar. The pin survives in situ, also copper alloy. The pin is rectangular in section. One end is curved around the strap bar whilst the other tapers in thickness and width to a point.

An incomplete, cast copper alloy buckle dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1650-1720). The buckle frame is ovoid (sub-annular) in plan and double-looped with a 'D'-shaped loop either side of a straight central recessed strap bar. The frame is undecorated on both faces and the reverse is bevelled on the interior edge. The pin is missing.
It measures 14.8mm long, 12.5mm wide, 2.1mm thick and weighs 0.83g.
This buckle is similar to Whitehead (2003; pg. 48), no. 279, dated between 1650 and 1750 AD.

A cast copper alloy chape from a buckle, dating to the Post Medieval period (probably c. 1660-1720 AD). The chape is formed of a main broadly triangular shaped plate with the point extending into a long tapering neck, terminating in a rounded knop. A circular sectioned stud projects from the back of the knop. The opposite straight edge is bent around to form a circular tube, with a rectangular slot in the centre. Originally this would have had an iron spindle fitted through it, holding both the pin and chape. Iron corrosion is present in the central slot and the vertical tube.

An incomplete and damaged, copper alloy buckle dating to the Medieval period (1100-1500 AD). It consists of frame and plate, with only part of the frame surviving and c. 60% lost to old breaks. The plate is rectangular in plan and formed of one copper alloy sheet, folded around the strap bar with a rectangular central slot to house the pin. The pin is missing and the space between the two ends of the plate is filled with corrosion and sediment. The buckle would have been asymmetric with one square loop (now lost to old breaks) and one rounded loop (surviving), either side of the strap bar. The surviving loop and the strap bar are 'D' shaped in section with a flat back and rounded upper faces. Two rounded knops are located on the outer edge of the loop.
The buckle measures 19.4mm long, 19.5mm wide, 1.9mm in thickness and weighs 1.36g.
