An early medieval silver sceat of Primary Phase Series Bl in an 'imitative' style (probably most akin to Series BId); dating c. 690-700. Metcalf 1993: 96-99. Unlike 'official' Series B coins, the serpent's head in the inner circle on both obverse and reverse are laterally reversed to face to the right rather than the left, and they are located a 6 o'clock rather than 7 or 8 o'clock.
