A Post Medieval cast lead alloy unifaced token (1500-1700). The lead alloy token has been crudely cast in a circular shape, but an error in the casting process has caused two opposing wedge shapes to intrude into the circular edge. These could have been the result of the token being prised out of the mould using tongs. The obverse of the token has been decorated with seven raised pellets, arranged in a ring of six pellets with one pellet in the centre. A Roman ceramic base sherd from a Samian vessel (AD 70-250). The find consists of a sherd comprising around 50% of the base of a Samian-ware vessel, that the footring indicates was probably a hemispherical decorated bowl (Webster 1996). The sherd has been made in the fine, bright orange-red fabric associated with Samian-ware, and is very hard. It has been tempered with an extremely fine quartz and has few inclusions. An Early Medieval cast copper alloy strap end-dating 9th - 10th century. This appears to be a Thomas Class A, Type 2 with a split end, tapering plate, zoomorphic terminal and patterned field. On this example the zoomorphic terminal is very stylised. The decoration in the field is unclear but there appears to be a row of punched dots just above the animal-head and then a band of diagonal lines, possibly within a shield against a punched dot background. An incomplete Medieval cast copper-alloy seal matrix. From the reverse, a hexagon-sectioned handle would originally have projected, but this has broken off quite close to the circular die (engraved face) of the matrix. The six facets of the handle radiate gently outwards from the break as the matrix expands to the die. This has sustained a break at one edge, accounting for the loss of around 5-10% of the matrix face. The central motif is a pair of crossed hands with a fleur-de-lis above.
