Copper alloy buckle with oval frame, integral plate and strip pin. The front of the plate is gilt and there are traces of gilding on the pin. The rear of the frame is white-metal coated. On the reverse of the plate there are the stubs of two integral and two separate rivets. The rectangular pin hole lies between two transverse grooves and is flanked by multiple oblique grooves. Copper alloy D-shaped buckle frame with single lobe at both ends of narrowed bar, at junctions of sides and outside edge, tri-lobed knop in centre of outside edge, and nine stamped ring-and-dots. Cf. an example from Norwich (HER 156, Margeson 1993, no. 128). Many other frames quite close in form have been recorded. Near parallels have been found in Norfolk at Horsham St Faith (HER 50700) and Southrepps (HER 51114). 26.5 x 29.5mm. 11th century.

Cast buckle pin with trapezoidal tongue shield. The curved pin is decorated with sets of transverse grooves, three, three and five, and the inside edge of the tongue shield with tiny longitudinal grooves. On the reverse an iron-stained blind hole would have held a loop for attachment to the bar of the frame. There is a casting defect, a blow hole, on one side of the shield. Length 34mm. Width of shield 12.5mm, of pin 4mm. Cf. Marzinzik 2003 plate 16.2. Late 6th century.

Footplate of cruciform brooch, break across junction with bow not ancient: near top pair of opposed side notches and some recent damage above a single transverse groove, then very oddly a chamfer along one side only, ending at a transverse ribbed moulding. An elongated horse-head terminal with saltire at the top. The upper end of the catchplate lies just below the base of the bow and the lower end dies gently into the reverse above the base of the terminal. Length >34. Width 6.5mm. Reichstein 1975 Typ Witmarsum. Mid 5th century.

Lower part of one arm of a pair of Middle Saxon copper alloy tweezers. Below the break the sides are chamfered and near the centre there is a line of punched dots. Below this an engraved saltire between two horizontal pairs of transverse lines. The next part is undecorated although the sides are chamfered. Below another pair of transverse lines the wide expansion to the inturned blade is decorated with a cross formed from eight punched ring-and-dots. Length >32mm. Width at break 3.5mm, at blade 13.5mm. 8th - 9th century.

A small amount of dull pinkish enamel, probably once red, is extant. Very close to the vertical strips on the Faversham bowl (Brenan 1991, 210-11). Width 8mm. Thickness 1.5mm. Book fitting or furniture fitting in the form of a highly stylised animal head with an iron-filled socket. The mouth of the socket is sub-rectangular. On the underside just beyond the mouth a large gap has left the iron filling exposed, a deliberately formed opening. The animal has protruding ears, no eyes and a long triangular-sectioned snout decorated on the front two faces with transversely engraved lines.
