An incomplete Roman cast copper-alloy early plate (cruciform) plate brooch with central circular motif, of mid to late 1st century AD date. The brooch is cruciform with four concave sides. In the centre is a circle within a circle, with a dot in the centre, made from an iron alloy (the circles are a reddish brown, the rest of the brooch is covered in a green patina). Three of the four arms are complete, with two lobs seperated by a groove on each terminal. A corroded and incomplete cast copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4, flat wing ends type), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.e. Plate 47. Behind the head and wings of the brooch is the recess to take the spring and pin, which is covered in reddish-brown iron corrosion, indicating the pin was made from iron. The spring was held in the ends of the wings, which have punched holes filled with more iron corrosion. The front face of the brooch is also corroded and pitted, with the knop on the head distorted. A Roman copper alloy incomplete flat-bladed nail-cleaner with varying decoration (Group) (250- 410AD). The shaft is lozenge-shaped in plan with the bottom point extending to form a bifurcated terminal which has broken off. The lozenge-shaped mid-section is decorated with three incised crosses seperated by tranverse lines; in opposing quarters of the central crosses are stamped ring-and-dots (two in the quarter towards the bifurcated terminal, one in the other). An incomplete copper alloy toggle, of Post-Medieval date. The object has an ovoid body with pointed ends. From the long side of the ovoid projects an integral shaft with a flattened double loop terminal. One of the loops is now broken. The object is undecorated; it is covered in a thick dark green patina but file marks are visible on all three parts. The patina has worn off on part of the shaft revealing a brass coloured alloy core. The object measures 25.8mm (length) x 23.0mm (width) x 8.0mm (thickness) and weighs 7.22g.

On the obverse are two naked lovers engaged in a sexual act; the female lies on her front beneath the male who straddles her. They lie on a bed or couch decorated with a swag.
