A corroded medieval two piece strap fitting, probably a bar mount. The strap fitting is rectangular, with rounded corners. It is formed of a pair of sheets, held together by two rivets; one at each end. The rivets are flattened but uneven. The strap fitting is plain, and both plates are covered in a dark green patina with patches of lighter corrosion. It measures 32.8mm x 10.5mm x 3.1mm, and weighs 2.99g. It can be compared to examples illustrated in Margeson 1993 (39; 22), dated to the 15th-16th century.

It is formed of a pair of sheets, with a thick sheet spacer between, held together by three rivets; one at the centre of the terminal end, and one in each corner of the attachment end. A cast copper-alloy single-looped medieval buckle frame with ornate outside edge, missing its pin. The frame's outer edge has knopped ends which travel slightly outwards. Between the knops are three transverse grooves, delineating two equal ridges; these latter act as a pin rest. The pin bar opposite is offset and narrowed. No evidence of the pin survives. An incomplete post medieval rectangular probably double loop buckle frame with a flat back. Either end of the pin bar are mouldings. On one side the buckle has broken in the middle of the moulding, on the other the moulding is complete. The pin bar and one half of the frame is intact, and covered in a black patina. The pin bar is narrowed and offset. The buckle now measures 21.3mm x 16.6mm x 1.9mm, and weighs 1.9g. Egan and Pritchard (1991, 97-98) dates rectangular double loop buckles to mainly the 14th to 15th century.

On the opposite side, 8.4mm of the other loop survives. The buckle now measures 22.3mm x 20.8mm x 2.3mm, and weighs 2.92g. The mount is a square with rounded corners and with a small, v-shaped knop extending from the centre of each side of the square. The face of the mount is plain and the edges are bevelled. A cast copper alloy mount of probable medieval date. The mount is a square, seemingly plain and the edges are bevelled, but a trace of gilding can be seen on one edge. The reverse has an integral rivet and square rove (of which one corner has bent inwards). The mount measures 15.1mm (corner to corner) x 11.2mm (side to side)x 1.3mm (7.8mm with rivet), and weighs 0.87g. The date is suggested from the rivet and rove is medieval, but the lack of decoration makes close dating hard.
