An incomplete cast copper-alloy front plate from a padlock of post-medieval date. It is circular in form with two protruding lugs at the top. The bar or mechanism was made of iron given the orange corrosion product found on one side of the plate. Arranged longitudinally down the centre of both faces is an incised rectangular section. This is divided into three squares with incised double linear borders and incised crosses.
