An almost complete Late Bronze Age sword of cast copper-alloy, now in five segments and without its tip. The morphology is similar to that of continental swords, specifically the carp's tongue type, though with some less usual decorative features, produced in the Late Bronze Age c. 1000-900 BC. The blade is straight all the way to the end and has decorative ribbing on each face. A copper alloy wire ring possibly dating to the Roman period. The object consists of two strips of wire which are bent into a circle to form the band. The ends overlap and curl around the band forming two slip knots. The strips of wire are circular in cross-section. Dimensions: 19mm in diameter, 11mm in width at the bezel, 1.50g. This basic style of slip-knotted wire ring had a long life (there are Roman examples) but was perhaps most popular in the 7th century AD, when it was most commonly used on necklaces. A copper alloy late Iron Age or Roman penannular brooch dating to the first century BC or AD. The frame is circular in cross-section. The terminal ends are spirally coiled outwards from the frame and on the same plane, turning three times. The pin survives and is mobile. It is a strip of copper alloy bent around the frame tapering to a point and intended to rest between the terminals. The pin is circular in cross-section. An incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative, Polden Hill brooch, see Mackreth 2011, Chapter 3, Part 3, CD PH 4. a-b. An incomplete copper alloy bow brooch of the Wirral type dating to the Roman period. The object is a hinged example. The head is stepped but damaged and the headloop is missing. The upper bow is decorated with three raised vertical panels which contain cells. Each cell is empty or contains patches of enamel. Each cell would have been filled with alternating colours of bright enamel forming a chequerboard pattern. Below the panels is a raised rounded knop.
